楊汝萬
銀紫荊星章、OBE、太平紳士
香港中文大學地理學榮休講座教授、榮譽院士和香港公開大學榮譽教授、榮譽大學院士。生於香港，完成大學本科教育後赴笈北美，1972年獲芝加哥大學博士學位，然後長期在新加坡和加拿大工作。1984年返港，在香港中文大學工作一直至2008年退休。長期研究亞太問題，包括城市發展、全球化、中國改革開放、公共房屋等。?版專著超過五十種，一直積極參與國際和亞太區層次研究工作，擔任香港多項公職。
Yeung Yue-man

Yeung Yue-man is Emeritus Professor of Geography and Honorary Fellow of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Honorary Professor and Honorary University Fellow of The Open University of Hong Kong. Born in Hong Kong, he left for graduate studies in North America after completing his bachelor's studies in Hong Kong. He obtained his PhD from the University of Chicago in 1972. This was followed by a long period of work in Singapore and Ottawa, Canada. He returned to Hong Kong in 1984 and remained in the service of the Chinese University until his retirement in 2008. His long-standing research interests focused on urban development, globalization, public housing, etc and he has published more than 50 books and numerous articles on these subjects. He has participated actively in research at regional and international levels, in addition to active contribution to public affairs in Hong Kong.

Professor Yue-man Yeung is an internationally renowned social scientist, having been appointed as Professor of Geography, Registrar, Director of the Hong Kong Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies and Head of Shaw College at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
This book has included150 photos taken by Professor Yeung over the past 50 years. They cover diverse subject matters in different parts and regions of the world revealing their rapid change against the background of globalization and urban-rural transformation.
